The Internet has become an essential part of modern life…and results released today show how important it, and Ebay, have become to everyday Australians. Almost 2,500 Australians now use Ebay as their primary source of income, while more than 12,500 stay-at-home mums and dad sell on Ebay to supplement their family income. Ebay Australia’s Managing Director, Simon Smith, says his company creates employment and flexibility and believes it can have a positive impact on all aspects of Australian society. However, Adelaide University’s Head of Media, Professor Chika Anyanwu, believes online facilities, such as Ebay, have created a divide in society.
