Amid the current climate of terror and fear of Islam, the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims began all over the world on Wednesday. The US Military says it is stepping up its operations in Iraq during Ramadan, suspecting that terrorists will use this time to strike. This week, a Sunni suicide bomber killed 26 worshippers in a Shi’ite mosque inside Iraq. Amjad Mehboob of the Australian Islamic Council says Muslims – and the Americans – should respect the holy month as intended.
