Robert Fisk comments on motivations behind terrorism
In his role as correspondent for the UK’s Independent Newspaper, Robert Fisk has been reporting on and living in the Middle East for 28 years. While his critics charge him with being subjective in his coverage of the many wars that have wracked the Middle East during that time, his supporters point to the value of his on-the-ground reporting in these conflicts, such as the current war in Iraq that aims to look beyond the spin of the US co-alition forces. Currently in Australia, Robert Fisk spoke to Annie Hastwell in Adelaide. Here, speaking just after the latest bombings in Bali, he discusses the West’s inability to examine some of the motivations behind terrorism.
