State leaders met with the Federal Government this week to agree on the introduction of new terror laws. The new laws will give federal police unprecedented powers. Australia’s Muslims are worried about what the new laws will mean for their community. Doctor Nahid Kabir of Edith Cowan University says Islamophobia – or fear of Islam – is alive and well. Nahid told Radio Adelaide’s Deanna Rohrsheim that Muslim women are suffering racial discrimination in the work place.
