David Hicks faces trial November 18
Australian Gauntanamo detainee David Hicks will face a US military comission on November 18, a month later than originally expected, the Pentagon announced today. Hicks will face charges of conspiracy to commit war crimes, attempted murder by an unpriviledged belligerent and aiding the enemy. With the first scheduled hearing being moved back from mid-October, it gives Mr.Hicks more time to pursue British Citizenship in an attempt to avoid the controversial military commission. Hicks’ Australian lawyer David McLeod comments on the case… and while the government has stood behind the military commissions, the shadow Attorny-General Nicola Roxon condemed the government’s stance.
