The pornography industry is often portrayed as degrading and exploitative for women. But film director involved in the industry is aiming to turn those preconceptions around. Appearing at one of the events at Newcastle up coming This Is Not Art festival is female erotica director Anna Brownfield. Previous films that she’s worked on include ‘The Money Shot’ and ‘Tainted Eden’. Based in Melbourne, Brownfield is making the trip up to Newcastle to be part of a panel called ‘Subterranean Sex, D.I.Y. Style’ panel, alongside representatives from Slit Magazine and SuicideGirls.com. Heather Murphy spoke to Anna Brownfield recently to talk about her work, and asked her how female consumption of pornography has changed.
