Many have heard of Black Power and Gay Pride, but a new minority movement is emerging, Mad Pride. At the Annual Mental Health Services Conference held in Adelaide today, Mad Pride was highlighted by Scottish stand-up comedian Ron Coleman. Mr Coleman, who has a mental illness says for him being “psychotic and proud” is the only way to be. Conference committee member, Renee Edwards said Mad Pride is becoming a revolution around the world by sending out the message that people with mental illnesses won’t be treated differently anymore.
