Indigenous groups in Western Australia are set to benefit from a resolution made on the countrys’ largest Native Title claim, covering parts of the Great Victoria and Gibson Deserts. In a special outdoor sitting of the federal court today, the chief justice ratified a determination over more than 180-thousand square kilometres of land. The Nunyatjara claim has been two decades in development gives the claimants exclusive rights for the protection of sacred sites. Around 700 traditional owners gathered to begin cultural celebrations yesterday, as Livingstone West told Lola Forestor on SBS Radio.
