Unfair dismissal laws for small business have been a hot topic recently, with the Labor Party and Unions forecasting a miserable picture for employees. However, as Alex Parry discovered, not all small businesses will be able to hire and fire as they please, and employees dismissed unfairly will not be entirely robbed of legal rights. She spoke to Andrew Stewart, Professor of Law at Flinders University, who set the record straight.
