Many of the countries affected by the Boxing Day tsunami have begun the transition from relief to recovery. Clean-up and repairs continue as survivors await reconstruction plans from their government. Visitors, meanwhile, are slowly returning to Tsunami-hit areas, in spite of the subsequent aftershocks and earthquakes. Government and international aid agencies were remarkably swift in their response to the Tsunami. There has been a generous outpouring of donations to disaster relief funds, and volunteerism has risen sharply in some afflicted countries. However, less attention has been paid to human rights issues arising in the Tsunami aftermath.The Wire’s southeast Asian correspondent Jay Lamey spoke with Rohit Malpani from Forum Asia, who have just realeased a report titled Tsunami and Human Rights: 100 Days After
