Both sides of politics are protesting today at the inadequacy of the two and a half year snentence handed down to Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir who is widely believed to have instigated the Bali bombings. Professor Tim Lindsay is just back from Jakarta where he followed the trial closely. He says given the evidence available and the lack of resources for the prosecution it’s a wonder he was convicted at all.
