Advocacy groups and farmers on the frontline of climate change fear the effects of the naturally occurring phenomenon El Nino will be “supercharged” when combined with climate pollution.
Dr. Andrew Watkins, Adjunct professor at Monash University’s School of Earth, Atmosphere, and Environment, and climate counsellor at the Climate Council, says it’s vital to understand seasonal forecasts to prepare for the extreme weather combination.
