Following the earlier success this year of the Timber Creek native title compensation claim, more Australian native title holders are seeking compensation for the spiritual damage caused by loss of land.

Now, former Australian of the Year Dr Yunipingu has launched a $700 million court action on behalf of the Yolngu people on the Gove peninsula, arguing that the Commonwealth government failed to acquire their land on just terms.
