Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work and the Australian Government has used the day to release plans for a national occupational health and safety code. The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Director of Workplace Policy Peter Anderson says the focus needs to be on prevention rather than punishment. But South Australian Unions President Martin O’Malley believes the current laws need to be toughened.
