Gay and Lesbian groups has sounded a warning about the Federal government’s new industrial relations bill, claiming it could increase discrimination based on sexual preference. The Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby says it fears the government’s “Workchoices” plan means “no choices” for Australians in same-sex relationships. If the laws are passed, companies with fewer than 100 employees will be immune from unfair dismissal laws, and some critics believe this could make it easier for bosses to sack people, simply because they’re gay. Sasha Pavey is speaking here with Julie McConnell from the Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby.
