The Australian Government will soon be lifting restrictions in our armed forces allowing women to serve in combat zones. Under the proposed policy, women would provide support on the frontline and join previously restricted units such as the infantry. However, women would still be banned from serving with the S.A.S. RSL National President Major-General Bill Crews says the changes will be moderate, in order to aid the progression of women, without engaging them in hand-to-hand combat.
