Women leading the way in sustainability in Asia

Women make up most of the world’s poor. But when women have control of the purse strings, their families and their communities are more likely to benefit. And if women have control over food production, the benefits are higher again. The Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research or ACIAR found that in Lao Cai, one of Vietnam’s poorest regions, women played an important role in farming. These women are working with the ACIAR to grow better produce to be sold for higher profits.
