Women dominate the PM Prizes for Science Awards

According to a 2018 Women in STEM Survey report by Professionals Australia, women make only 27% of the STEM workforce.

However, at this year’s Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science Awards, women took out 5 of the 7 awards with Professor Cheryl Praeger taking out the top $250,000 prize.

So why aren’t more women pursuing STEM and is the government doing enough to address the lack of female representation?
