Kevin Rudd has shown his Industrial Relations hand by announcing he will scrap AWA’s but in the process he has kept fundamental parts of a decade of coalition reforms. It seems he is trying hard not to step on too many toes, keeping a balanced policy for big business while staying relatively onside with the Unions. But just how will Rudd’s announcement affect voters in the lead up to the election? Labour is weary of the impact that big announcements can have just prior to an election and as The Wire found out, there is much debate and varied opinion on this announcement.
