A recent Senate Committee report highlighted the need for public education and consultation on the issue of whether or not Australia should become a republic. But with the government about to gain control of the Senate, and with the Prime Minister a committed monarchist, some republicans fear the issue is being swept under the carpet. The Wire spoke to the convenor of the ACT branch of the Australian Republican Movement Bryan Lobascher.
