Australia wide we have over 321,000 living with dementia, by 2030 those figures will double and by 2050 it is expected that there will be around a million Australian’s battling the disease. Before today it was hard to imagine what the world is like for someone who has dementia and how a carer can best respond to their needs. Now a new hub has opened up inside Victoria’s Perc Walkley Dementia Learning Centre enabling people to enter an interactive room that simulates the world as someone with dementia sees it.
