This year’s budget has resulted in a plan to invest $50.7bn in defence spending over the next decade as part of the Integrated Investment Program, aiming to increase the GDP portion that defence spending takes.

From tanks to housing, small arms to helicopters, the spread of defence spending is wide, and aims to take Australian defence in a new direction.

Steven Samaras spoke with  Assistant Defence Minister – Matt Thistlethwaite for more.
