The planned extraction of water in the arid Western Davenport region of the Northern Territory is too high according to the Central Land Council.

Traditional owners are concerned that sacred trees and wildlife will suffer under the new water plan from the Northern Territory Government.

Central Land Council say the consultation process was flawed and inadequate, and was based on outdated information.
