The new Welfare Reforms Bill seeks to change activity tests for mature aged pensioners. Currently, welfare recipients aged 55-59 are required to complete 30 hours of paid or unpaid work per fortnight to satisfy activity tests.

Under the new legislation job seekers aged 55-59 would be required combine volunteering with at least 15 hours of paid work to satisfy activity tests.
