Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan is being targeted by climate activists for proposing new laws they say will allow gas and mining companies to increase emissions.

The new laws are intended to support the development of Carbon-Capture and Storage technology. This technology would sequester greenhouse gasses into the earth. Also, it is a major part of the federal government’s current climate change plan.

But the CCS technology is not working as planned, and the mining activity continues to expand.
