Victorian COVID Flareup Raises Future Concerns
On Tuesday, July 7th, 2020, Victoria recorded a record high of Covid-19 transmissions with 191 new reported cases. Unlike states such as Tasmania or the ACT, the surge in cases highlights parts of Australia have a long way to go before the threat of the pandemic goes away.
In response to this spike, many have wondered about the possibility of spikes occurring in other states and territories. Despite the improvements in other states, a fear remains that easing restrictions will see more transitions.
But what does the future of the nations struggles with COVID-19 look like? Can we expect to see more flare-ups like in Victoria? How far away is a vaccine? And what will life look like while we wait for things to ease?
