Victoria has recorded 532 new coronavirus cases, the highest single-day total in the state since the pandemic began, amid a concerning increase in infections for aged care facilities. There were also six additional deaths due to COVID19.

In today’s press conferences, Victoria’s chief health officer, Professor Brett Sutton claimed that the state may be reaching its peak for community transmitted COVID cases, though Premier Daniel Andrews has admitted that there may still need to introduce some further restrictions.
