The United States has decided to increase the scope of its arms sales to Bahrain, despite Amnesty International declaring that a human rights crisis continues in the country. The US has strong military ties with the Bahrain, and the US fifth fleet is based there, but the small middle eastern nation is ruled by a royal family, and the regime’s security forces continue to imprison activists who call for democratic reforms.

Bahraini activists say they’ve lost faith in the united states, and the Greens Senator Scott Ludlam say that the US is attempting to airbrush inconvenient truths in the interests of resuming weapons sales.
