Uranium miners have been given Federal Government assurance today that the Northern Territory is open for business, in spite of any opposition by the Territory government. Former diplomat and author of a book about the nuclear industry, Professor Richard Broinowski, says Australia is unlikely to go nuclear but if it gets into the export business it needs to admit that it cannot guarantee where the uranium will go, in spite of the Safeguards Council and the international agreements signed up to in the late seventies.
