The Wire

Under the Same Sky tells the story of Mojgan Shamsalipoor and Milad Jafari, who are two young Iranian asylum seekers who came to Australia in search of a better life.

They met, and later married, in Australia after arriving separately by boat.

Milad and his family were granted refugee status, but Mojgan was not. She was held in detention for two years, before being released on a bridging visa in September 2016. She’s been told she will not be able to stay here, but can’t go back to Iran.

Throughout the experience they have show that love can conquer all.
