Uganda is a country decimated by Aids. The saddest sign is probably the two million children orphaned by the disease. Highlighting their plight is the Watoto Children’s Choir, which is currently singing its way around Australia. The young singers are the lucky Ugandan orphans – those picked up by a church program which is hoping to solve the country’s problems by giving these children a future. Annie Hastwell caught up with the choir rehearsal and talked to youth leaders Eddie and Susan.
