Tourists return to Indonesia despite warnings
Since the first bombing in 2002, tourists have continued to return to Indonesia. The Government have attempted to inform travellers about the dangers but have not changed the travel advisory since the latest attacks, which remains that all non-essential travel be deferred. So does the responsibility lie with the travellers and should they be given refunds for cancelling trips to a destination that has a current terrorism threat? Former magistrate Brian Deegan knows more than anyone the sadness and grief of terrorism after losing his son, Josh in the 2002 bombings. He said he was not surprised but was outraged at the latest attacks and said the government should do more to inform travellers about the dangers. Managing director, Les Williams of Golden Bali and Global Travel in Adelaide said despite the recent attacks, there has still been interest in travelling there.
