After only one full day as Prime Minister, Tony Abbott is under fire from the Indonesian Government over his asylum seeker policy which they have labelled “offensive” and “illegal”. However, Australian Foreign Affairs minister Julie Bishop says she will be seeking Indonesia’s understanding rather than permission when she accompanies Abbott to Jakarta later this month to meet with the Indonesian Prime Minister.
