Tibetans rally in Canberra for human rights violations

Tibetans met with ministers in Canberra yesterday, for the 12th Tibet Lobby Day, organised by the Australia Tibet Council, to address human rights issues in Tibet.

They were encouraged by a poll indicating that 70% of Australians want stronger human rights accountability.

Delegates called for support for a UN investigation into the separation of Tibetan children from their families and the protection of Tibetan language. They stress that most Australians prioritise human rights over trade with China.
