The Chinese government evacuated 3000 of its nationals from Vietnam yesterday following violent riots. The anger is directed at China’s decision to establish a $1 billion oil rig in disputed waters. Chinese nationals were killed last week, and businesses vandalised. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese government has been sending mixed messages on the issue.
