Voluntary Student Unionism comes into effect on Saturday July 1, and universities around Australia have been bracing for this massive change for several weeks and months. Justin Lee, the University of South Australia’s student association president says it’s a sad day for the university. The National Union of Students have devised a list ranking the universities best equipped to counter the loss of funds with VSU against those condemning the student experience. ANU was one of the top unis, meanwhile Newcastle University came in close to the bottom. Rose Jackson, President of the Union says the changes will have an effect on future student intakes
