Nominations have now opened for the second annual Orwell awards. To get an Orwell you have to achieved great things in fields of Spin, misinformation and generally getting in the way of Press Freedom. It was George Orwell who said ‘in our time political speech is largely the defense of the indefensible’ so its no surprise politicians win a lot of Orwell awards. The event is run by The Walkley Foundation. Jay Lamey asked Jane Worthington just what they had in mind when they came up with these tongue in cheek awards.
