When they said everyone was invited to the party at a beach house on Adelaide’s South Coast they didn’t just mean you could watch the actors as they get into trouble under the influence but you’re also expected to step into the scenario and help the actors out. Performed as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival by Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble, Party House is forum theatre that asks the community what do we do when our friends pass out? How do we stop young women being raped or abused while they’re passed out on the couch? The show is based on the life experiences of its actors, aged 13-21, and the audience members range from “troubled teens” to school groups to grandparents.
