Today marks 30 years since the first HIV/AIDS outbreak was reported. In some countries the incidence of HIV is on the rise but overall, the number of new HIV infections has been declining since the late 1990s. Expanding access to treatment means less people are dying from the disease. But for long-term success, some experts say we need to focus on preventing HIV transmission.
