The anniversaries of two important Aboriginal protests have raised questions as to the future of Indigenous political activism.

At the eighth anniversary of T.J. Hickey’s death and a forum on the 40th anniversary of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy, activists expressed disappointment in the government’s repeated failure to meet many of their demands. These activists are also convinced, however, that these protests are the right avenue for change.
