Today pro-democracy forces in Libya have almost taken hold of Tripoli, despite pockets of resistance. International focus is already turning to the possibilities for restructuring Libyan society. In the discussion of a free Libya, there has been little attention given to the country’s women, and the role they might play in the new coalition government.
