The majestic River Red Gum may be an increasingly rare Australian landscape feature. A report released today shows that 75% of the gums are suffering from stress – a twenty five percent increase on the figures from a survey done only three years ago. Dr Mark Siebentritt from the Murray Darling Basin Commission says the Living Murray initiative could turn things around for the gums.
