Yesterday the Federal Government announced plans to enter into a new global warming agreement, rather than signing the Kyoto Protocol. Environment Minister Ian Campbell says that the new agreement will be more effective in reducing Greenhouse gas emissions than under the terms of the Kyoto pact. However, Australia Institute Director Clive Hamilton argues that the new agreement is nothing more than window dressing and that if the Government really cares about global warming, it should put it’s money where it’s mouth is. Samantha Regione spoke with critics of the new plan, Clive Hamilton, and Greens Party Senator Bob Brown.
