He’s been called the father of urban Aboriginal Art – Trevor Nickolls is a senior Australian artist whose work is held in collections across the world, and who has represented Australia at the Venice Biennale . His style covers two worlds – he was trained in Western art and later incorporated traditional indigenous styles – the result is strong paintings with strong messages. His exhibition Self Portrait and Other Spirits is currently showing in Adelaide.
