Telstra denied yesterday that a leading research and development lab in Victoria will be closed, but failed to confirm if 200 jobs will not be lost. CEO of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Greg Fary says employers at the lab on Friday were left in no doubt that many of them would be made redundant and functions of the lab would be moved elsewhere. This move has raised concerns over Telstra moving the company offshore and becoming reliant on overseas resources.
