Venezuela is a country in the grip of big changes under President Hugo Chavez. They’ve battled to nationalise their oil reserves, negotiate the release of hostages in Colombia and to keep their President in power. Venezuelan Mission worker Carlos Sierra was in Melbourne over the weekend. He says eliminating poverty is up to the people.
