Melbourne’s youth community radio station SYN Media is hosting an emergency fundraiser to keep the station open.

With the pandemic, loss of grant funding and the current cost of living crisis, the station says they’ve struggled to stay afloat. After 20 years of platforming young people’s voices, SYN has only six weeks to save the station.

SYN’s contributor for The Wire, Loughlin Patrick, asked SYN Community Manager, Laura Green about the moment they realized the station was in financial trouble.
