According to new modelling, lockdowns will continue to be the only option to Covid outbreaks until 90 percent of the population over 12 are vaccinated. The contagiousness of the Delta variant has  changed the game according to the model, and the fact that Astra Zeneca is less effective against it. New South Wales’ current strategic stay at home methods are unlikely to succeed and the modelling suggests lockdowns will be with Australia until at least the middel of 2022.
