At a press conference in Sydney today Leader of the Opposition Sussan Ley weighed in on the way that Minister for Immigration and Citizenship Tony Burke has refused the visa application of Israeli government member Simcha Rothman.  She said that given he was a member of a government of  another country that he needed to be very clear as to the risk to the Australian public.

Rothman is one of the two Israeli government members that Tony Burke has prevented from entering Australia.  Today he said that it was a rare event, and he had only previously blocked the visas of Candace Owens and Kanye West.
