Writer Antonella Gambotto-Burke spent her pregnancy wondering whether she had it in her to love her child. She’d spent her life thinking children were a burden, and would get in the way of having a full life as a woman. Having her baby changed all that – and made her question why she had such negative pre-conception about being a mother.

She began to interview leading childcare experts, seeking how to better navigate motherhood and from that came a book – MAMA Dispatches from the Frontline of Love.
